More than a thousand diverse titles, including literary, social, scientific and children's stories, were included in the third book fair, which was held by the Ghassanid Orthodox Schools in Homs today, in cooperation with the Zenobia Cultural Foundation, and a number of publishing houses in Syria, in the archaeological hall, next to the Cathedral of the Forty Martyrs in the Hamidiya neighborhood. .

At the opening of the exhibition, George Abu Zakhem, Metropolitan of Homs, emphasized the importance of culture in the lives of peoples and their development, considering that the book occupies the most prestigious position, and it cannot be abandoned, no matter how advanced modern technical means and methods are, because it is synonymous with restoring human self-confidence.

He pointed to the remarkable echo that the exhibition met in its first and second editions, which prompted them to continue with it, stressing that the school is the incubator for books and generations, and it has a fundamental role in building a person.

The director of the Ghassanian Orthodox Schools in Homs, Murhaf Shahla, noted the diversity of this year's book fair, including books and titles of interest to all generations, pointing out that holding the exhibition for the third year in a row is to revive reading through schools that are the important cultural and educational incubator for this matter.

Shahla said: We try to keep the prices of books well thought out, through cooperation with publishing houses in Syria, to allow the largest possible number of visitors, adults and children, to acquire the books they desire.

The Director of the Zenobia Cultural Foundation in Homs, Sawsan Khabbaz, indicated that for the third year, the Foundation has been participating in the Ghassaniya schools in this exhibition, along with about seven publishing houses in Syria that provide the most important titles, as the book is a cultural tributary and a basic reference for knowledge for children and adults.

A number of visitors to the exhibition, including Ghassan Shammas and Rola Nasr, stressed the need for book fairs to continue throughout the year, as they constitute a natural cultural and civilized situation, enhance reading among young people and children, and meet the reader's need for a diversity of books.

It is noteworthy that the exhibition will continue until the fifth of this month.
