Will not return to Facebook: At least not in the next six months (Photo: Reuters)

Facebook's supervisory body convened today at 4:00 PM (Israel time) and decided that Tamp's account would remain suspended. His account was blocked on January 7, so Facebook announced that his account would be blocked until further notice. "The shocking events of the last 24 hours clearly show that President Donald Trump intends to use the time he has left in office to undermine the legal transition to his elected successor, Joe Biden," Zuckerberg said in a post he posted to social media. "Trump's decision to use the platform to condemn and not condemn the actions of his supporters in the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the United States and around the world," Zuckerberg said in a Jan. 7 decision to block the account.

In May last year, Facebook announced the establishment of the Supervisory Committee.

Consisting of independent representatives from around the world, you will make final and binding decisions that will determine whether specific content will be allowed to appear on Facebook and Instagram or be removed from them, based on the preservation of freedom of expression and human rights.

The council will be headed by 19 members, while later the committee will expand to 40 members in total.

One of the 19 members from over 27 countries is Amy Palmor, a former director general of the Ministry of Justice.

Although the oversight committee approved Facebook's decision on Jan. 7, committee members noted that it was "inappropriate" to suspend Trump indefinitely, with no criteria for when or if the account would be restored. "In implementing this penalty, Facebook did not follow a clear procedure. Unlimited suspensions are not described in the company's content policy. Facebook's standard penalties include removing the infringing content, imposing a suspension period or permanently disabling the page and account."

So in effect, the commission decided that Facebook would complete a comprehensive investigation to determine if Trump could return to the platform. "The board insists that Facebook will review this matter to determine and justify a proportionate response that is consistent with the rules applicable to other users of its platform. Facebook must complete its review within six months.

The blockade on social media came after Trump supporters broke into the congressional building, which convened to confirm Biden's election to the presidency, and clashed with security forces.

This is after the rally in front of the White House, the outgoing president incited the public to refuse to recognize the election results.

The congressional hearing was held after the protesters had been evicted from the building.

After Trump's speech, thousands of his supporters went through security circles, demonstrated outside the hall and even tried to break in while confronting security forces.

Some of the protesters carried Confederate flags.

As a result, the hearing was adjourned and a curfew was declared on Capitol Hill, when Washington Mayor Muriel Bauser subsequently announced a night curfew across Columbia County.

Four people were killed and dozens of rioters were arrested during the riots.
