The Syrian national football team lost to its Lebanese counterpart, by two goals to three, in the match that brought them together today at Al-Qweismeh Stadium in the Jordanian capital, Amman, as part of the decisive round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In the last minute of the first half, the Lebanese team equalized through Muhammad Kadouh, who returned in stoppage time in this half, taking advantage of the absence of defensive oversight to add the second goal. The first half ended with the Lebanese team advancing with two goals to one.
The absence of focus on our team became clear in the second half, which enabled the Lebanese team to score its third goal by Sony Saeed in the 52nd minute, and in the 64th minute our team reduced the difference with the goal of Omar Al-Soma. Three goals to two goals.
Our team remained in the last place in the first group of the decisive role in the qualifiers with one point, while the Iranian team leads the standings with 10 points, followed by South Korea with 8 points, then the Lebanon team with 5 points.
