"Unfortunately, at this time we are witnessing deplorable manifestations of memory erasing and hatred against Jews".
The bishops of the CEI affirm this in their Message for the 33rd Day for the deepening and development of dialogue between Catholics and Jews, which will occur next January 17, "an important opportunity for Christians - they define it - to take care of the respect, dialogue and knowledge of the Jewish tradition ".
"The Day is a significant opportunity to underline the particular bond that binds the Church and Israel (NA 4) and to look at the current Jewish communities with the certainty that 'God continues to work in the people of the Old Covenant and gives birth to treasures of wisdom that they spring from his encounter with the divine Word '(EG 249) ", writes the Episcopal Commission for Ecumenism and Dialogue in the Message.
