Successful premiere: Thanks to the fantastic weather, the premiere of the Gaißach Sunnawind Festival last weekend was a success.

Organizers and guests were enthusiastic.

Gaißach

– Organizing open-air events requires courage, as success is heavily dependent on the weather.

The Gaißach music band – along with all the local clubs involved – was rewarded for their grit at the first “Sunnawind Festival Goaßa”.

With glorious weather, visitors came in droves over two days and were very impressed by what was on offer.

Only on Sunday did a few places remain empty during the day - there was probably a lot of demand for some bathing lakes or outdoor pools.

But in the evening the crowds of visitors increased around each of the stands and the beer benches were crowded together.

Even late in the evening the temperatures were still pleasant, ideal for a fresh beer, a cocktail and a hearty snack or other delicacy.

The selection was great, every participating club had made a great effort.

Many stands, a beer garden, a historic bowling alley and much more had been set up.

And on the stage different bands and groups took turns.

It was difficult to go home, and a visit to the veterans' association's "Bunker Bar" was almost unavoidable.

It was in a specially dredged pit, covered with thick tree trunks and camouflage netting.

Some guests are said to have felt so safe in it before the dark night that they only came to the surface again at sunrise.

All in all a successful festival, so a repetition in the coming year cannot be ruled out with certainty.
