Among the first to open the officialization of the various awards are Slow Wine 2022 and the Essential Guide to Italian Wines 2022 by Daniele Cernilli (DoctorWine), which awarded the winery of the year award to Casanova diNeri (Montalcino-Siena ). The Red of the Year Award was awarded to Barbaresco Asili 2016 Bruno Giacosa (Piedmont), while that for the White of the Year was awarded to Grecodi Tufo Vittorio 2008 Di Meo (Campania) and to Alto Adige TerlanoRarity 2008 Cantina Terlano (Alto Adige ). The recognition for the rosé goes to Puglia and precisely to the Furia diCalafuria-Tormaresca company. Slow Wine instead awarded the three Slow Wine Awards.the Young Winemaker Award was awarded to Federico Stroppolatini from the Stroppolatini winery in Cividaledel Friuli, while the Ceretto family from Alba, Piedmont, was awarded the award for sustainable viticulture. The career award went to Elisabetta Fagiuoli from the Montenidoli winery in San Gimignano (Tuscany). The end of the next week, with a date yet to be formalized, those of Gambero Rosso are expected with the guide "Vini d'Italia 2022". The winery of the year award is given to Guido Berlucchi (Cortefranca-Brescia), who this year also celebrates its 60th anniversary.
