WNBA star Britney Greiner was arrested last February at Moscow airport on suspicion of drug smuggling, when she was caught with a cannabis inhaler, and has been held in Russia for four months in custody.
Today (Monday), the basketball player who was selected in the first place in the draft, started the fight in court - when she arrived for her first hearing ahead of the trial that will take place on July 1.
The U.S. considers Griner "unlawfully detained" and the case is being handled by its hostage messenger.

She could face up to ten years in prison if convicted on a large-scale drug transfer charge.
