They denounce that an armed commando kidnapped 22 foreigners from a hotel in Mexico

It happened in a motel in San Luis de Potosí. They were rescued hours later in a field. The State Prosecutor's Office reported that another group of 16 Mexicans had also been deprived of liberty.


Dozens of people, including 22 of foreign nationality, denounce having been kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday by

an armed commando

in a hotel in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Hours later, in circumstances that have not yet been clarified, they were released, authorities reported. 

Federico Garza Herrera, head of the Attorney General of San Luis Potosí, said in a statement that he received information in 

an anonymous call 

about a group of 16 Mexicans who were in front of a store asking for help.

They claimed that an armed commando had deprived them of their liberty at the Sol y Luna motel, located in the municipality of Matehuala, and that they had later been released. 

The victims also reported that among the people abducted from the different rooms of the hotel

there was another group of more than 20 foreigners

Investigative Police officers reported that they went to the hotel, where they interviewed several witnesses who assured that, during the shift change, three vans with armed men entered the facilities, “which caused damage to the rooms and deprived the freedom to several guests ”, specifies the official information.
