They find alive a Latino soldier who had been declared missing at the Fort Bliss base

Sergeant Daniel A. Soto de Jesús was found after he was absent from work on Monday and was no longer seen. The case recalls the murder of private Vanessa Guillén, whose disappearance was not investigated in a timely manner by the military authorities, according to an independent report.


Sergeant Daniel A. Soto de Jesús, who had been declared missing when he was absent from the military base of Fort Bliss, Texas, where he was stationed, was found alive as confirmed this Friday by the authorities of the 1st Armored Division .

Army officials did not offer further information on his whereabouts or the reason for his absence.

"Our priority continues to be the safety and well-being of this soldier and his family," they said

Soto de Jesús had been seen on Monday at 10:14 am local time, wearing the service uniform of Battalion 2-37, before he was considered missing.

He did not show up for work on Tuesday morning

This case becomes relevant in light of the murder of the Latina soldier Vanessa Guillén last year, which uncovered the tangle and bureaucratic laziness that families of soldiers who disappear from the bases or are victims of a crime within of them.
