Strange fish found on the ocean floor (rfedortsov_official_account)

Roman Fedorstov devoted his life to exposing unidentified creatures from the depths of the sea, while working as a fisherman on their trawler (a commercial fishing vessel) in Murmansk, northwestern Russia.

He spends many months of his life at sea, to the delight of his 654,000 followers on Instagram - where he often shares with them photos of the creepy creatures he finds in the depths.

Two of his latest findings have managed to leave his followers in shock.

The first is a very scary-looking fish with yellow eyes that look out of place and a huge tongue covered with scales.

The picture garnered more than 12,000 likes, with many appalled by the poor thing: "I will never go into the water again," one reporter added: "I wonder if his eyes look normal at the right water pressure, but become strange and prominent when taken out to the surface."

Another user concluded: "This is the stuff nightmares are made of."

Roman's other frightening find was dubbed the "Frankenstein fish" due to its gray color, green eyes, slightly transparent fins and tail-like tail.

"He looks like any average 40-year-old British man," one wrote with a laugh and another concluded it was a ghost shark: "The lines on his body are sensory receptors that help him get food and move around."

Ghost sharks are also called chimeras and are ancient cartilaginous fish that live deep in the sea and are among the most primitive fish living today.

They are called ghost sharks, though they are not sharks at all.

The Instagram page of the novel is full of a variety of different and weird marine creatures including a sea wolf, a sea snake and a "mermaid purse", which are actually dumplings used to protect shark eggs.

He wrote on the subject: "Perhaps in the past people believed that they were indeed purses or bags of treasures belonging to sea girls, but now we know that they hold within them very different kinds of treasure⁣⁣".

Here are some more of his spectacular findings:

And he also found an old shoe:

Although Padortsov studied at the Maritime University of Murmansk and is an expert in fish affairs, he often fails to identify the species of all the strange marine creatures that have come up in his rod and some of them are still mysteries.

He warns that although these creatures have an "alien" appearance, it is also known that changes in pressure can affect the appearance of some of them as they rise to the ground.

While they are accustomed to very high pressures of thousands of feet below sea level, above ground they are prone to metabolic problems and can even change their shape.
