The world-famous design exhibition Salone del Mobile, which opens on June 7 in Milan, Italy, is celebrating its 60th edition with high expectations to return to a rich cultural life and bring the great international events back to our lives, after more than two years of epidemic.

The exhibition, which returns to its old and familiar format, is the largest showcase in the world, for all the trends, innovations, materials and colors that will be seen in the near future in home design.

And for decades it has been a magnet for designers and anyone involved in fields related to design, who come to be updated every year on the new trends, advanced technologies and new materials in design.

About 2,100 exhibitors, including more than 600 young designers under the age of 35, will express their identities and creative freedom while focusing on a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach - this is the guideline for all exhibitors, who wanted to include recycled materials or reuse with an emphasis on Environmental awareness in all design processes.

"We all have a duty to move faster towards finding design, manufacturing and distribution solutions that are sustainable. What we need today is an ethical approach to design," said exhibition president Maria Porro.

As part of the circular and green approach, the architect Mario Cucinella is planning a large exhibition that will be spread over 1,400 square meters. The installation, called 'Design with Nature', will reflect an ideal ecosystem for our future residence. Where visitors can come and touch, physically feel alternative potential materials. After the fair, the buildings will be reused throughout Milan.

In parallel with the exhibition that takes place at the fair center, hundreds of events and exhibitions take place throughout the city of Milan that together make Milan for one week the center of attention of the design world, and of quite a few tastemakers in related industries.

Just before the big show, the leading brands and companies are releasing teasers of the big shows they plan to present.

It is evident that the design depth outweighs transient trends and the focus returns to quality.

Here are some of the salient designs that follow this coherence:

On the occasion of its 70th anniversary celebrations, the Italian furniture company Moroso (Tollman's) will present five interpretations of the living area that will be interpreted in different centers in the city under the name 'Stanze'.

In addition, the Teatro dei Filodrammatici, known for its neoclassical architecture, will present a special installation called 'Forest Wandering'.

The Italian fashion house Missoni (RENBY), which is associated with its colorful zigzag pattern, is celebrating its characteristic colorfulness with a new collection that will be displayed at the fair center.

In the center of the city in a large display space will be displayed a multifaceted exhibit that is a kind of escapism from the bustling city.

The exhibition will feature for the first time a new collection of gift products with small-scale items.

For the first time, small items with the print associated with them will also be displayed.

Cosentino, which recently launched a global campaign to 'change the world from the kitchen', will launch at the Eurococina Kitchens exhibition creative ways to use Dekton and Silestone surfaces that maintain carbon neutrality throughout their life cycle.

The exhibition, which also includes the kitchens' Eurocotina, serves as a canvas for all exhibitors to tell their stories.

In light of the ongoing war in Ukraine, Maria Foro added that "we now believe more strongly in the importance of the exhibition to be a crossroads of cultures and styles open to the world."
