The parachutists of the sports promotion group were successful at the World Cup in Belluno, Italy.

A youngster celebrated his first World Cup victory.

Belluno – It is probably due to the regular competition date in August that the "typical Belluno weather", as Lance Corporal Zoe Stoll puts it, consists of a mix of sunshine and thunderstorms for the parachutists of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in Altenstadt.

The Italian town on the southern foothills of the Dolomites is one of the long-running favorites on the World Cup calendar.

Lists of results have been available on the organizer's homepage since 2002 - and that was when the 13th edition of the "Belluno Trophy" took place.

Even in the Corona years 2020 and 2021 competitions took place in Belluno.

The women and men from Altenstadt always achieved good results on the southern edge of the Alps.

It was no different this year.

The team went home with a gold and a silver medal and two bronze plaques.

Sergeant Elischa Weber, who supervised and trained the sports promotion group on site, was "very satisfied" with the result, according to a statement.

Looking at the entire World Cup season and the overall standings, he was happy about the "consistently good performance" of the women and men.

Only one was better: Stefan Wiesner (left) finished second overall with a deviation of five centimeters for the men.

The competition itself had to be ended prematurely on the first day after two rounds due to a storm.

The next day it was nice, but the conditions were not easy due to sudden winds and separations.

The air that flows near the ground when a warm air bubble has formed and rises is called separation.

Altenstadt team secures bronze place

In the team classification, the first team fought its way forward with good results in the third to last and penultimate round.

In the final duel with the Hungarian military team, Sergeant Major Christoph Zahler, Kai Erthel and Stefan Wiesner as well as Staff Sergeant Robin Griesheimer and Sergeant Elias Kammer kept a narrow lead of two centimeters and thus secured third place.

After eight laps, the Altenstadters had a deviation of 70 centimeters.

It won the Italian "Scuola Nazionale" (53) ahead of the first Czech military team (63).

The second set of the sports promotion group (Corporal Aaron Dulisch, Corporal Samuel Wallrath, Sergeant Christian Kautzmann, Corporal Mathias Demmler, Sergeant Tatjana Gustke) took eighth place among 41 teams.

In the men's individual ranking, it was Wiesner who provided the best German result.

With a five centimeter deviation after eight laps, he won the silver cup.

Only the American Ehab Mahmoud (PD Factory Team) was better than the main sergeant, who only had three centimeters (six zeros) on the account.

Kautzmann made his comeback after a long injury break.

With 21 centimeters (a zero), he ended up in 58th place and thus in midfield.

Junior jumper Demmler was happy about his first World Cup victory.

With a deviation of eight centimeters (three zeros), there was no getting past him.

Team colleague Kammer, who started in the first team for the first time in the World Cup, also made it onto the junior podium in third place (14).

Dulisch had delivered his best competition to date: 20 centimeters deviation brought him fourth place in the juniors and a norm.

Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

Gustke did not start in full possession of her strength.

The reason for this was a bicycle accident.

Despite that, she delivered a solid performance in fourth place (16).

Gabriela Balascau (Romania) and Michaela Myharova (Czech Republic) finished second and third with the same deviation, but with a greater number of zeros.

Nevertheless, Gustke scored 80 out of a possible 100 points for the overall World Cup ranking.

For Lance Corporal Zoe Stoll it was all about gaining experience.

She was 32nd out of 40 women (52).

In the team classification, she competed for the Italian women's military team - 27th place.

More than half of all 163 male participants belonged to the master class at this World Cup.

Among the athletes over 50, Gerhard Wagner from Schongau showed that he can still land very accurately.

With a deviation of 14 centimeters (a zero), it was listed in twelfth place.

In the "Paratec Factory Team" he was by far the best jumper.

The German quintet finished the World Cup in 19th place.
