Tokyo Olympics: at the end of himself, Kevin Mayer wins a formidable silver medal in the decathlon

Injured in the back, in tears after the first morning of events, the French decathlete finally won the silver as at the Olympics.


What a comeback!

Kévin Mayer is Olympic decathlon vice-champion.

After two days of suffering, battling a back injury that hurt him so badly, the world record holder in the discipline went on to win a silver medal.

He notably went to seek this medal, after a huge javelin throw, signing his personal best with 73.09 m, during the ninth round of the decathlon of the Tokyo Olympics.
