Tolisso's future as good as clear: medical check-up at the ex-club

Corentin Tolisso is leaving FC Bayern for his French homeland.

His move to Olympique Lyon is imminent.

Munich - FC Bayern has already said goodbye to him, now it is becoming clear where his future lies: According to information from the French sports newspaper

and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Corentin Tolisso will complete his medical checkup at Olympique Lyon on Thursday.

The Frenchman should therefore sign a five-year contract with his former club on Thursday.

Tolisso comes from the youth of 'OL' and made 160 appearances for the French club between 2014 and 2017.

So now he's about to return.

At the end of last season, FC Bayern officially declared the cooperation with the midfielder to be over.

Tolisso was under contract for Bayern Munich for five years and won everything there is to win in club football.

In 2018 he became world champion with the French national team.

Most of the time he wasn't one of the regular players, and numerous injuries kept throwing him back.

In the end, however, he made a remarkable 117 appearances for the record champions.

With the transfer of Ajax jewel Ryan Granvenberch, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic has already provided a replacement in the midfield center.

FC Bayern: Süle, Roca and Tolisso leave Munich

No fee is due for the Tolisso transfer as the 27-year-old's contract expired this summer.

In 2017, Bayern had signed him for the handsome sum of 41.5 million euros.

Tolisso would already be the second well-known returnee for Lyon: Alexandre Lacazette, an old acquaintance, is coming back from Arsenal.

After Niklas Süle (BVB) and Marc Roca (Leeds United), Tolisso is the third Bayern departure of the transfer summer.

Prominent names could also be added: Robert Lewandowski would like to switch to FC Barcelona and has already been spotted with coach Xavi, with Serge Gnabry the future is completely open.
