FC Bayern Munich demonstrated their strength in the top match on the 8th match day of the Bundesliga and won 5: 1 (5: 0) at Bayer Leverkusen.
Robert Lewandowski scored the first two goals (4th, 30th minute of the game), Thomas Müller (34th) and Serge Gnabry (35th, 37th) increased in a very short time.
Patrik Schick scored Leverkusen's consolation goal (55th).
There were early signs that the attack on Bayern would be at the top of the table.
Lewandowski used a free-kick flank directly placed by Dayot Upamecano with the heel (4th).
There was little to be seen of Leverkusen's attacking direction, the home team acted passively and offered a lot of space in the center.
As in the previous season, Lewandowski scored a double in Leverkusen.
The world footballer only had to push in as the last station of a combination (30th).
In contrast to the recent 2-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt, when they left the field as a loser despite the increased chances, the Munich team showed themselves to be extremely efficient in the offensive.
In just four minutes, Müller was able to celebrate his own goal (34th), Gnabry then two (35th, 37th).
Bayer's highest half-time deficit
The Leverkusen-based company could not avert the highest half-time deficit in the history of the Bundesliga, but still managed to score a consolation.
Served by Florian Wirtz, Schick's finish hit the left inner post into the goal (55th).
Previously, Kerem Demirbay failed in a one-on-one against Manuel Neuer.
A home goal scored by Lucas Alario from an offside position was withdrawn (87th).
In the uneventful final phase, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann spared his players, taking Müller, Lewandowski and Niklas Süle off the field.
The record champions will have to go to Benfica on the third day of the Champions League next week;
Bayer Leverkusen travels to Europa League group opponents Betis Sevilla.
