It is against the great absentee, Sega D., that the heaviest sentence was required, this Wednesday, at the trial of six traffickers of stolen cars, who were tried for two days.

A hidden business of stolen SUVs in Hauts-de-Seine and the south of Île-de-France, between May and November 2020, of which Sega D. is presented as the sponsor.

The prosecutor at the hearing requested five years' imprisonment and an arrest warrant for this 36-year-old man, who allegedly left for Mali for family reasons last summer, and would therefore not not come back.

Admittedly, he is only accused of seven stolen vehicles out of the fifty or so DS Crossbacks, Toyota Rav 4s and other Peugeot 5008s stolen in this traffic, but he was designated by an anonymous informant, followed by the investigators, seen at the scene of loading stolen vehicles.

One of the little traffickers, who were going to break the windows of the cars spotted to then start them with a tampered old Nokia telephone, designated him as the recruiter of the thieves.

An RATP agent among the defendants

Alongside the presumed sponsor, Mohamed S. appears as the organizer of the network.

Against this 27-year-old man, the only one to appear in the box since he has been in pre-trial detention since his arrest two years ago, four years were required, for 34 thefts and concealment of Jeep, Fiat 500, Toyota SUV and Peugeot 3008. "No, the French model cars, I have never stolen (sic)", repeated the defendant from the box, just before the court retired to deliberate.

“The Toyota C-HRs, yes, the Rav4s, yes, but not the others,” summed up his lawyer.

If Mohamed S. is already in prison, the eldest of the defendants, he risks discovering it.

The prosecutor requested three years against this 52-year-old man, an agent at the RATP, who allowed the network to store the stolen vehicles in the warehouse of a subcontractor of his company, in Antony, before their shipment to the ports of Le Havre or Antwerp (Belgium) for delivery in Africa.

Among the small hands judged in this case, there is a young repairman, who made the tray of his towing vehicle available for the loading of several vehicles on the port of Gennevilliers.

It was against him that the smallest sentence was required, a four-month suspended prison sentence.

The deliberation was to be delivered in the evening.
