(ANSA) - TOKYO, 16 JAN - The tsunami caused by the massive eruption of a volcano near Tonga reached Japan with a wave of 1.2 meters on the remote southern island of Amami Oshima, around 23.55 local (15.55 Italian).

The Japanese meteorological agency announced this, adding that waves of up to 3 meters are also possible.
