Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has won the German Coach of the Year award for 2021.
According to a poll conducted by the German magazine Kicker, Tuchel received 129 votes out of 559, surpassing Hansi Flick, the former Bayern Munich coach who currently coached the German national team, who won 118 votes.
For his part, Tuchel expressed great happiness after receiving the award for the best German coach, saying: “I am very grateful to receive this award, which came as a tribute to the whole team.”
Tuchel became the first coach to reach the finals of the Champions League with two different teams, having previously led Paris Saint-Germain in the previous edition to reach the final, and then Chelsea last season.
