Two people were injured today in a shooting at the airport in the Mexican capital, Mexico City.
Reuters quoted Metropolitan Police Chief Omar Garcia Harfoch as saying: The shooting took place near Terminal 2 at Benito Juarez International Airport, wounding two people and arresting the suspect after being wounded.
According to officials, the cause of the accident may have been an attempted robbery in which a bodyguard fired shots to fend off an alleged thief on a motorbike, but it was not immediately clear whether the suspect or others had fired.
The airport media office indicated that air traffic at the airport was not affected by the accident.
