Syrian cartoonist Raed Khalil won the Excellence Award at the Golden Apple International Festival of Satire and Humor in Romania, whose theme revolved around football.
The artist Khalil also received the honorary award in the second competition section (portrait), which embodies the personality of the late international soccer player Maradona, amid a wide participation of cartoonists from 80 countries.
The first work depicts the state of taming in the world of football, and the idea identifies with the famous game of taming the bulls, while the second work depicts the character of Maradona in a creative creative style.
It is worth mentioning that Khalil won dozens of awards from international caricature competitions last year, and he is the director of the Syria International Caricature Competition since 2005 until now.
