Two policemen have been shot dead in the Italian city of Trieste. The officers died shortly after an attack in the police headquarters on their serious injuries, among other things, the Italian news agency Ansa. Three other police were injured, the perpetrator is arrested.
According to the newspaper Corriere della Sera, two brothers were arrested on Friday afternoon as suspects of a robbery at the police station.
One of them asked to go to the bathroom, but then attacked a policeman. The man is said to have snatched his gun and shot him. Other police shot back and injured the shooter's brother. Both men were overwhelmed.
Passersby reportedly panicked when they heard the shots. The surroundings of the police headquarters were sealed off.
