The Public Establishment for Drinking Water in Daraa announced the suspension of water pumping to a number of villages and depriving 150,000 citizens of drinking water as a result of unidentified persons sabotaging two water pumping stations in the northwestern countryside.
And the assistant director of the foundation, Engineer Osama Al-Qadri, stated that "unidentified persons stormed the building of the Tal Al-Jamoua pumping station that feeds the city of Nawa, and they sabotaged the station and stole an electrical transformer with a capacity of 400 kV and copper cables, which led to the station stopping working," noting that "the station feeds about 120 thousand citizens in abundance. pumping 250 cubic meters per hour.
Al-Qadri pointed out that "the Corporation has secured an alternative transformer" in preparation for re-pumping the water in its normal state.
He added: "Another attack targeted the solar-powered Al-Hara pumping station, where unknown persons stole 80 solar panels and a number of equipment from the station, depriving 30,000 citizens of water," noting that the abundance of the Al-Hara station is 150 cubic meters per hour. .
SANA's reporter in Daraa stated that the competent authorities began investigating the two attacks.
