The European Football Association (UEFA) announced that the England national team will be punished by playing the next two matches at home in the continental competitions without an audience.
UEFA’s decision came due to the rioting that occurred during the European Championship “Euro 2020” final against Italy at Wembley Stadium last July.
And “UEFA” stated that it suspended the execution of the penalty in the second match, while the FA fined 100,000 euros.
The fans clashed with each other and with officials, and crossed the security barriers and approached the vicinity of Wembley Stadium before the start of the final match, which ended with Italy winning on penalties.
The British police announced at the time that 19 of its members were injured, while 86 people were arrested, 53 of whom were inside the stadium.
