In which neighboring country petrol and diesel are particularly cheap, how much motorists can currently save.

Munich / Berlin - Just a few days ago, the first German petrol stations at Super cracked the two-euro mark.

The prices for diesel and gasoline have also risen significantly recently.

The diesel price has even reached a record level with an average price of 1.555 euros per liter.

This is bad news, especially for commuters.

If you want to save now and live in a region close to the border or are on the road, you should take a look at the gasoline and diesel prices in our neighboring countries.

Tank tourism is already booming in Austria and the Czech Republic.

More and more Germans are taking a trip abroad in order to be able to refuel cheaply.

The cheapest way for drivers to get away is when they refuel in Poland.

According to the

Swiss Touring Club,

the price per liter for Super 95

averages 1.27 euros (as of October 15).

That would be 0.47 euros per liter less than in Germany.

The table clearly shows that it is worthwhile for almost all Germans living close to the border to take a short jaunt to refuel.

In almost every neighboring country, savings are made on gasoline in particular.

Refueling is particularly cheap in Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria.

The prices here are heavenly compared to Germany.

And even in actually expensive Switzerland, you can still save a few cents.

For example, if you drive a VW Passat and fill up with 60 liters, you can save a good 28 euros.

In the Czech Republic it is still 21.60 euros.

If you are abroad anyway, you should definitely plan a savings stop.

Important: Since the prices fluctuate strongly, it is worthwhile to make a brief comparison before visiting the petrol station.

With our northern and western neighbors, however, the tank excursion is not worthwhile.

In Denmark, a liter of premium gasoline costs 1.90 euros (diesel: 1.72 euros), in the Netherlands even 1.98 euros (diesel: 1.61 euros).

However, diesel drivers should be particularly careful.

Here, as a tanker tourist in Belgium, France and Switzerland, you pay more than in Germany.
