US natural gas futures jumped more than 7% after Freeport said its Texas LNG export plant is set to resume operations in early October.
And Reuters reported that gas contracts for September delivery ended the trading session on the NYMEX up 56.0 cents, or 7.3 percent, to record at the settlement of $ 8.266 per million British thermal units.
Gas is trading around $59 per million thermal units in Europe and $46 in Asia, and US gas contracts are up about 118 percent so far this year.
