After Facebook was revealed earlier that the phone numbers of millions of users were leaked, the privacy issues of online social platforms have been the focus of attention.

An American media reported on April 3 that the personal information of Facebook's 533 million users was recently publicized on a hacker discussion forum, worrying that the information might be misused by criminals.

US "Business Insider" (Business Insider) reported on the 3rd that Alon Gal, chief technical officer of the cybercrime intelligence company Hudson Rock, first discovered the problem.

He said on Twitter that all 533 million Facebook records have been exposed for free in an online hacker forum, describing that if everyone has an FB account, the phone number registered with that account is likely to be leaked.

Details include:

Phone number, Facebook ID, Full name, Location, Past Location, Birthdate, (Sometimes) Email Address, Account Creation Date, Relationship Status, Bio.

Bad actors will certainly use the information for social engineering, scamming, hacking and marketing .

He pointed out that the disclosed personal information includes more than 533 million user IDs, names, current and past locations, date of birth, email address, account creation date, relationship status, and personal profile from 106 countries around the world.

Gal believes that criminals will definitely use this information for social engineering, fraud, hacking, and marketing.

The report mentioned that "Business Insider" reviewed some of the information and confirmed that the personal information on the information was consistent with the identity of the specific FB user.

Gal believes that from a security point of view, Facebook does not have many remedial measures because the information has been made public, but believes that the other party should notify users to alert them to possible phishing or fraudulent activities using their own identity.

In recent years, Facebook has been involved in false Russian accounts to interfere in the US election and Cambridge Analytica's user data leakage scandal, which has plunged it into a credibility crisis.
