“We have received around 200 applications so far.

We are extremely pleased, ”said the head of the vaccination center, Christian Achmüller, yesterday.

He could not quite foresee whether everyone who agreed to actually get a chance, "but we will contact everyone in any case," he promised.

This also applies to numerous doctors who have indicated their willingness to cooperate.

But one thing is certain: the help is urgently needed.

Because the rush to the offers of the vaccination center is huge, as only became apparent this week, when a vaccination campaign was organized in Pähl without prior notification.

"We had planned 360 doses of vaccine for the two days over which the campaign was to run," said Achmüller.

But it turned out differently.

The rush was so great that in the end 620 doses of vaccine were administered within one day.

"As much as we are pleased with the interest - this can no longer happen in the future," says Achmüller.

On the one hand, he has to make sure that his employees don't work too much overtime.

Above all, the availability of sufficient vaccines is currently the limiting factor.

“That's why we unfortunately had to cancel the second day of the vaccination campaign in Pähl.

If we had gone through with that, we would have had to cancel appointments that were agreed weeks ago for Friday and Saturday at the vaccination center, ”he explained.

Therefore, the following applies from now on: There is a certain number of vaccination doses for vaccination appointments without advance notice.

Even if there is still further demand, replenishment cannot simply be requested from Peißenberg.

“During the vaccination campaign with TSV Weilheim on Sunday, we bring 250 vaccine doses with us.

If these are inoculated, unfortunately it's over ”, Achmüller clarified yesterday.

He has ordered "a lot" of vaccine for the coming week.

How much of it will be delivered, however, is still in the stars.

"As you can hear, not only have the order quantities for the Biontech vaccine been capped, Moderna is also only available to a limited extent," said the head of the Peißenberg vaccination center.

His main focus is still on ensuring that the agreed appointments in the vaccination center can be kept.

To get one you have to register again at www.impfzentren.bayern.

If you register now, you can expect to get an appointment for the first or booster vaccination sometime in January.

However, it is definitely worth checking out from time to time, says Achmüller.

Because if there is enough vaccine and the work is progressing well, short-term additional appointments will be activated.

In the meantime, it has also been possible to acquire additional staff, he continued.

In this way, the offer in the vaccination center in Peißenberg could then be gradually expanded again.

He reckons that it will probably be possible to vaccinate again on Mondays from January.
