(ANSA) - PHNOM PENH, 01 AUG - Cambodia today launched an anti-Covid-19 vaccination campaign for adolescents aged 12 to 17, using the Chinese drug Sinovac. Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and other high-level leaders accompanied their grandchildren to get vaccinated at the vaccination site at the Peace Palace in the capital of Phnom Penh. In a press conference at the inaugural event, Hun Sen said that the Southeast Asian nation has about 2 million teenagers and called on all parents and legal guardians to accompany their children to get vaccinated: "Giving children is another important step. to achieve herd immunity. Lapandemic has seriously compromised the development of human resources and schools have been closed in almost all countries ",he added that vaccines will pave the way for schools to open. (HANDLE).
