This entrepreneur is at the heart of a story that is unlike him.
This man with a clean criminal record is suspected of having carried out with four accomplices, the kidnapping of a woman in July 2018 in Chevilly-Larue (Val-de-Marne).
"The ins and outs of this settling of scores between criminals could not be elucidated by the investigators of the criminal brigade of the Paris judicial police", specifies a source close to the case.
This story begins on July 11, 2018 when two hooded criminals burst into Cindy's home.
This 35-year-old woman is alone with her two children.
The bandits tie up the little ones with duct tape, steal a Rolex watch and kidnap their mother.
The kidnappers left behind a mobile phone that was to be used to contact them and negotiate the terms of Cindy's release.
The victim's father, a figure of organized crime
The victim's father, a supporter of organized crime, contacts the police.
This 62-year-old man, convicted several times in the past, notably in a kidnapping case, but also for his participation in a vast international drug trade, is described as close to the gang in the southern suburbs.
The negotiations began under police surveillance and the kidnappers demanded a sum of 700,000 euros against the release of Cindy.
"They will never say the reasons for their dispute," explains a source familiar with the matter.
But the personalities of the victim and her husband leave little doubt about the background.
They have both been convicted of drug trafficking and home invasions ”.
The mother remains six days in the hands of her jailers.
She is first detained in the apartment of Mourad A. A man she knows for having dated one of her best friends.
She is then transferred to a car, parked in a box on Avenue Maxime-Gorki in Villejuif.
Then she is again taken to a new apartment in Villejuif.
The young woman manages to jump out the window
On the evening of July 17, she manages to keep her jailers company behind by jumping out of a window. She was picked up by passers-by, before being taken to the police. "This woman was very shocked and is still traumatized by this experience", explains the counsel for the civil party. Heard by the examining magistrate, in July 2020, Cindy explained that she was in conflict with Abdenour over the sale of a luxury watch which had turned out to be a counterfeit jewel. A rather eccentric explanation given the amount of the ransom demanded by his captors.
The day after his escape, officials from the search and intervention brigade (BRI) arrested five suspects. Investigators identified Abdenour, thanks to the video surveillance images of a payphone in which he bought phone chips used in negotiations. “On these screenshots, the investigators clearly identified his tattoos and a sweatshirt which was also found during the search. "
An accomplice confides to the police that he led the thirty-something to the outskirts of Cindy's home to carry out scouting.
“He was in threading mode,” explains this man.
He had stretched out in the back seat so as not to be seen.
The interrogations do not add much.
All of these men minimize their involvement.
They claim that they rented this apartment or that they entered the cubicle to explain the presence of their genetic profile.
Abdenour remains in prison
Abdenour, who knows the victims well and even attended their wedding, denies everything. Divorced and father of a child, the young man, holder of a diploma in international business strategy, ran a private driver's company and employed drivers in the Paris region and in Saint-Tropez (Var). Before his arrest, he had set up another transport company. His advice, Me Gerard Tcholakian recalls that his client is presented "as the instigator of the kidnapping" but we do not know.
The lawyer believes that the investigating judge hid key witnesses in this case and recalls that the investigators had already collected a neighborhood rumor which designated another criminal as the organizer of this affair. "In the worst case, this young man is an accomplice and does not deserve to stay four years behind bars, the time that this case finally arrives in court," adds the defender. In this case, only one suspect was released and Abdenour was refused his release requests.
