The German U-17 women's national team is European champion.
The team won the final in Bosnia-Herzegovina against Spain on penalties 5: 4 (2: 2, 1: 1) and defended their title from 2019. The players had also won on penalties then, but against the Netherlands.
Overall, it was the eighth European Championship victory for the German juniors.
DFB coach Friedrike Kromp's team had already qualified for the autumn World Cup (11th to 30th October) in India by reaching the final.
Germany have now won four of the last five European U-17 Championships.
Laura Gloning from Munich scored the decisive goal from the point.
The Spaniards missed a total of three penalties.
Hoffenheim's Mara Alber saved the DFB team two minutes before the end of regular time with the equalizer to make it 2-2 on penalties.
Previously, the Spaniards had temporarily turned the game after Germany's lead by Hamburg's Svea Stoldt (15th minute).
Kromp's players made it into the final after beating France 1-0 in the semifinals.
In the preliminary round, the German team prevailed against the Netherlands, Denmark and the hosts.
