This date was to mark one of the happiest days in the life of Israel Slebani.
A year ago, this Lebanese doctor was posing in bridal attire in the streets of Beirut when a spectacular explosion interrupted the scene.
The video of his photo shoot has since toured the world becoming one of the symbols of this dramatic event.
"We don't like to think about this day, me in particular", says one year after the explosion Israa Slebani.
"I was supposed to be happy on my wedding day but that day was a disaster for all Lebanese."
The explosion left more than 200 dead and at least 6,500 injured, devastating entire neighborhoods of Beirut. The Lebanese capital still bears the scars today. A year later, Lebanon is also facing an unprecedented economic crisis described by the World Bank as one of the worst in the world since 1850.
