A crowd gathered on the forecourt of the Paris court to support Assa Traoré, on the second and last day of his defamation trial.

Hundreds of people gathered Friday before the Tribunal de Grande Instance of Paris to support Assa Traoré, Adama's sister, who died in 2016. The woman is attacked for defamation by the gendarmes whom she accuses of having killed her brother .

In 2019, Assa Traoré published a post on Facebook entitled “J'accuse” in which she cited the names of the gendarmes and accused them of “having killed (her) brother Adama Traoré”.

Several personalities came to support Assa Traoré, including LFI MP Eric Coquerel and author and journalist Rokhaya Diallo.

In 2016, Adama Traoré died at the age of 24 in the Persan barracks, almost two hours after his arrest.

For five years, investigating judges have been trying to determine the causes of death.

The gendarmes have not been indicted at this stage.
