From iPhone to electric vehicles.
Industrial Foxconn, known for assembling the famous Apple phone, unveiled three prototypes of electric vehicles on Monday.
A sedan, an SUV and a bus.
Foxconn has invested around 310 million euros in the development of electric cars in 2020 and its investments will continue to increase over the next two years.
Young Liu, president of the company assured that his group "has set up a supply chain and a distribution network of electric vehicles", with, since the beginning of the year, almost a new partnership every month.
Among its recent partners is Fisker, one of the many American electric car startups that hope to one day compete with Tesla.
The two companies have announced their intention to jointly develop electric cars sold under the Fisker brand, with the aim being to start producing vehicles by the end of 2023.

"Foxconn is no longer a new kid," said the head of the electronics company, at a ceremony in Taipei where the vehicles were unveiled. A white SUV - the "Model C" - is expected to hit the Taiwanese market in 2023 with a price tag of less than 1 million Taiwan dollars (310,000 euros), the manufacturer said. This electric SUV would be able to reach 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds.
An electric bus - the "Model T" - could start operating in Kaohsiung City as early as next year if approved by the Ministry of Transport, said Deputy Premier Shen Jong-chin.
It has a range of 400 km and can reach the maximum speed of 120 km / h.
As for the sedan - the “Model E” - this very luxurious prototype was developed in collaboration with Pininfarina.
It can reach 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds and the overall range peaks at 750 km on one charge.
