Because they allegedly beat, tortured and abandoned a man in Rechlin (Mecklenburg Lake District) from vigilante justice, a woman and three men must answer today (1 p.m.) at the Neubrandenburg district court.
The public prosecutor's office accuses the 26-year-old woman and the accomplice of dangerous bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and suspension.
Neubrandenburg - The quartet is said to have severely abused the acquaintance in Rechlin in February because he allegedly had sexually abused a child.
The accused, aged between 23 and 47, are said to have visited the victim in his apartment, hit him, pulled a bag over his head and brought him to an old military bunker.
There the victim was further mistreated, pushed into a shaft and apparently left helpless in the frost.
The victim managed to free himself the next day and get help, so that he survived despite severe hypothermia.
