The Pedatella couple opened their village shop in the Stein district of Geretsried, thereby closing a gap.

Customers lined up on the first day.

Geretsried – the wait is over: the new village shop in Stein has opened.

Viktoria and Antonello Pedatella have opened a small general store on the premises of the former Alpen-Apotheke on Tegernseeweg.

As reported, since the closure of the Penny market, there has not been a local supplier in the district (we reported).

Geretsried: Opening of the village shop brings local suppliers to Stein again

Everything is available in the village shop, from basic foods such as pasta, rice, flour and sugar to detergents and fruit and vegetables.

“We even have organic meat from the Pichler butcher shop in Gelting in our range,” says Viktoria Pedatella.

As she reports, the Steiners were eagerly awaiting the opening of the store: "Even before we opened at 9 a.m. on the first day, a long line had formed in front of the door." The flow of customers did not stop throughout the day.

Sometimes it was young people who got a bag of chips, then an elderly woman who refilled her supply of milk.

But why the name "village shop?" The explanation is simple: "We here in Stein are a district of Geretsried, but in a certain way also like a small, independent village with a nice community," explains the managing director.

This is confirmed by city councilor Kerstin Halba, who was also one of the first customers with her mother.

"If the Steiners don't come, who will?"

The village shop is currently open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pedatella: "Depending on how everything develops, we will adjust our opening hours." sh
