Explosions in two gas pipelines passing under the Baltic Sea detected today (Tuesday) raise suspicions of intentional sabotage by Russia.
The Seismographic Institute of Sweden, and the Danish army, simultaneously published announcements today according to which intense explosions were detected in the pipelines, after leaks were detected in them yesterday.
The claim is that Russia wants to damage the European gas infrastructure, against the background of the war in Ukraine.
However, there is still no clear evidence indicating the identity of those who damaged the pipelines, which cost billions of dollars to lay.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Murwiecki blamed Russia for the act.
"Today we witnessed an act of sabotage. We don't know all the details about what happened, but we clearly see that it was sabotage," Morowitzki said.
According to him "this is the next stage of the escalation of the war in Ukraine".
A senior official in the Ukrainian government also said that this was a Russian attack, designed to undermine Europe.
Danish Prime Minister Metta Frederiksen said that an act of sabotage cannot be ruled out.
"We are talking about a leak in three places that are a considerable distance between them, so it is difficult to imagine that it is a coincidence," Frederiksen said.
A European security source said there was evidence of deliberate sabotage.
The Norwegian Oil Rig Safety Authority has warned companies that operate offshore oil and gas rigs against unidentified drones flying near them.
Russia itself said this was "extremely worrying news", and said it was "damage of an unknown type to a pipeline in the economic territory of Denmark".
The two pipelines did not flow oil to the continent at the time of the explosions, but the meaning of the explosions is that even this coming winter it will not be possible to transport gas through them to Europe.
Nord Stream operators said it was "unprecedented" damage.
Russia stopped transporting gas through Nord Stream 1 in August, claiming that Western sanctions caused technical difficulties.
Nord Stream 2 is not yet operational.
The publications about the explosions immediately caused a sharp increase in gas prices.
