Virgil Abloh, the respected fashion designer known for dressing stars like Kanye West and Kid Cudi, passed away Sunday after a private battle with cancer.
He was 41 years old.
His death was announced in a tweet by LVMH, a partner company of Louis Vuitton, Off White and other luxury brands, in which Abloh had worked as creative director of the men's collection since 2018.
"We are in shock after this terrible news.
Virgil was not only a brilliant and visionary designer, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom," wrote Bernard Arnault, CEO of the company.

Messages on social networks multiplied little by little after the news.
Those who knew him remember him as a very talented professional.
Singer John Mayer, for example, said that Abloh had a constant creative force.
"When I heard the news, I had to sit for a moment and think about him for a long time.
He amazed the world with his art."
"Virgil found a way to remain generous, approachable and supportive of everyone around him, including his millions of fans. It is going to be very difficult to understand how someone so vital could have left. Rest in peace. We met a genius, "Mayer wrote.
