The internationally active construction manager Ina Brandes is to become transport minister in the cabinet of the new North Rhine-Westphalian Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU).
The German press agency learned this on Thursday from government circles.
Wüst wants to appoint the 44-year-old infrastructure expert along with all other ministers.
Düsseldorf - Born in Dortmund, Brandes, who has been a CDU member for many years, was the spokeswoman for the management of the Swedish planning group Sweco between 2011 and 2020.
Wüst had headed the Ministry of Transport himself since the summer of 2017 in the cabinet of his predecessor Armin Laschet, before the 46-year-old was elected as the new head of government in the state parliament on Wednesday.
Wüst therefore does not want to make any changes to the other posts of the black and yellow ministerial team.
