Wacken - "An extremely peaceful start after a stressful journey" is the headline of the Itzehoe police in their press report on Wacken Open Air on Friday. The official start was peaceful.

"Although the emergency services had a lot to do, in many cases it was only disputes that had to be settled or traffic obstructions that had to be remedied," it continues.

Wacken Open Air: 15,000 euros damage to Bundeswehr tanks

According to police estimates, a festival visitor caused damage of around 15,000 euros to a Bundeswehr tank.

The question "What does a tank do at a metal festival?" is easy to answer: The Bundeswehr is represented there with a "career meeting" to get interested people interested in a job.

And just to cool off in between.

Also included: A troop transport tank.

According to the police, a group of festival visitors visited it around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday and stayed inside the vehicle.

There, a person unnoticed triggered a halon extinguishing system and thus caused considerable damage, which according to the police should amount to around 15,000 euros.

Wacken Open Air: Police are looking for perpetrators

The police are now looking for the perpetrator, who was able to describe a member of the Bundeswehr.

The fact that he was wearing a black Wacken top shouldn't contribute much to the search, but the other details do: According to the information, he was 1.85 meters tall, had a European appearance and, in addition to the Wacken shirt, wore short shorts and mirrored sunglasses and a cap that showed the inscription of the band Motörhead.

The unknown was about 25 years old and disappeared in an unknown direction after the incident.
