The northeast monsoon is bringing quite cool weather to the south China coast.
The temperature in the urban area of Hong Kong dropped to about 14 degrees this morning, and it was a few degrees lower in the New Territories.
At 5 o'clock in the morning, Typhoon Niyatu gathered about 1,360 kilometers southeast of Okinawa. It is expected to move northward at a speed of about 15 kilometers per hour and cross the northwest Pacific Ocean.
The Observatory predicts that the weather in Hong Kong will be fine and very dry today.
The highest temperature is about 20 degrees.

The Transportation Department stated that due to a water main burst, some traffic lanes near the Lai King MTR Station on Container Port South Road (towards Kwai Fong) have now been closed.
Motorists can only use the remaining traffic lanes.
In addition, due to a burst of water pipes, the express line between Chang Shing Street (towards Fo Guang Street) and Fo Guang Street has been closed.
Motorists can only use slow lanes.
