Kurios: Torhüter Weidinger ist eigentlich Stammtorhüter der zweiten Mannschaft Regensburg in der Bayernliga, der fünften Liga. Aber die hierarchisch über ihm angeordneten Torhüter sind allesamt nicht in der Lage zu spielen.

14.28 Uhr: Die Aufstellungen sind da! Ole Werner vertraut folgender Elf: Pavlenka – Weiser, Veljkovic, Toprak, Friedl, Jung – Bittencourt, Groß, Schmid – Ducksch, Füllkrug. Damit beginnt Werder in der gleichen Startformation wie beim 3:0-Auswärtssieg in Aue vergangene Woche. Auf der Ersatzbank nehmen zunächst Zetterer (ET), Assalé, Schmidt, Rapp, Mai, Agu, Gruev, Woltemade und Dinkci Platz.

14.26 Uhr: Wir warten auf die Aufstellungen für Spiel. Die dürften jeden Moment eintreffen. Wir sind gespannt, wie Trainer Ole Werner heute gegen Regensburg agieren lassen wird.

14.20 Uhr: Davor hat Werder bereits zweimal im Pokal gegen die heutigen Gäste aus Bayern gespielt. im April 2021 gewann Werder im Viertelfinale durch ein Osako-Tor mit 1:0. 14.10 Uhr: Einige der Gästefans werden sich sicherlich noch gut an das Hinspiel erinnern, das Werder mit 3:2 gewonnen hat. Für Bremen haben seinerzeit Bittencourt, Friedl und Ducksch getroffen. Es war ein Spiel mit spannender Schlussphase und der erste Liga-Sieg gegen den Jahn.

13.59 Uhr: Die Fans betreten das Stadion, auch der Gästeblock füllt sich. Der wird größtenteils in Rot getaucht sein – nicht nur, weil der Jahn als Vereinsfarben Rot und Weiß hat, sondern auch, weil die Regensburger Fans aufgerufen haben, in roten Farben zu kommen.

13.39 Uhr: Wir werfen einen ersten Blick aufs Sportliche. Schiedsrichter der heutigen Partie ist Felix Zwayer. Ihm assistieren an den Seitenlinien Marco Achmüller und Richard Hempel, Vierter Offizieller ist Florian Exner, VAR ist Timo Gerach, ihm steht Oliver Lossius zur Seite.

13.05 Uhr: Ziemlich pünktlich kommt der vordere Teil des Fanmarsches am Weserstadion an. Bis alle da sind, wird es allerdings wohl noch etwas dauern.

12.58 Uhr: Die Polizei macht immer wieder Durchsagen und weist etwa darauf hin, dass die großen Fahnen der Fans den Oberleitungen zum Teil gefährlich nahe kommen. Pflichtbewusst lassen die Fans die Fahnen ein wenig senken. Es läuft bis hierher geordnet, aber stimmungsvoll ab.

12.50 Uhr: Die Werder-Fans bewegen sich zurzeit durch die St.-Jürgen-Straße. Es sind so viele, dass die, die hinten stehen, den Anfang und die, die vorne stehen, das Ende nicht sehen können!

12.29 Uhr: Die Polizei korrigiert ihre Schätzungen ein wenig nach oben: Etwa 12.000 Personen sollen es sein, die sich gemeinsam auf dem Weg zum Weserstadion gemacht haben. Der Riesen-Aufzug ist gerade am Sielwall angekommen.

12.20 Uhr: Laut Polizeiangaben sollen es um die 5.500 Werder-Fans beim Fanmarsch sein, unser Mann vor Ort schätzt aber, dass es deutlich mehr sind.

11.50 Uhr: Die Fans warten jetzt (ebenfalls auch auf Durchsage der Polizei) noch auf einige hundert Nachzügler, die sich dem Rest vom Hauptbahnhof annähern. Dann soll es gleich losgehen!

11.45 Uhr: Bitte Nummer zwei: „Unterlasst die Nutzung von Pyrotechnik“. Letzteres klappt so semi-gut...

11.40 Uhr: Bei so viel Fan-Andrang ist natürlich auch reichlich Polizei anwesend. Und die nutzt die Gunst der Stunde, um per Lautsprecher-Durchsage ein paar Sicherheitsinformationen durchzugeben. Bitte Nummer eins: Achtung, mit den großen Fahnen! Nicht an die Oberleitungen der Straßenbahn kommen, sonst besteht Lebensgefahr.

11.30 Uhr: Die Stimmung auf dem Marktplatz ist schon jetzt ohrenbetäubend laut - tausende Werder-Fans machen schon eine halbe Stunde vor dem Abmarsch in Richtung Stadion richtig Alarm!

11.15 Uhr: Die Bremer Ultra-Gruppe „Infamous Youth“ hatte unter der Woche für Sonntag zu einem Fanmarsch zum Wohninvest Weserstadion aufgerufen. Treffen war um 11 Uhr auf dem Bremer Marktplatz, der Corteo, wie die Ultras den Zug auf Italienisch nennen, beginnt um 12 Uhr. Und bereits jetzt ist es im Zentrum der Stadt pickepackevoll. Weil es aber nun mal ziemlich riskant wäre, sich darauf zu verlassen und weil Werder ohnehin ganz andere Ansprüche an sich stellt, lautete die Marschroute des Trainers: „Wir wollen unser letztes Heimspiel gewinnen!“ Punkt. Von der reinen Papierform her sollte das für Werder Bremen möglich sein im Duell gegen den Tabellen-13., Jahn Regensburg, für den es sportlich um nichts mehr geht und der seit nunmehr sechs Spielen auf einen Sieg wartet. Allerdings wird es am Sonntag noch auf etwas anderes ankommen: den Kopf. Schließlich können die Bremer nicht nur sehr viel gewinnen, es steht für sie auch sehr viel auf dem Spiel. 

„Natürlich ist uns die Bedeutung der Partie bewusst“, sagte Ole Werner, der sich unter der Woche um eine Mischung aus „Konzentration und Vorfreude“ innerhalb seiner Mannschaft bemüht hatte. Die Sache ernst nehmen, das sowieso. Andererseits aber bloß nicht verkrampfen. Unbedingt fokussiert bleiben, aber auch Spaß an der Sache haben. Irgendwo dazwischen habe sich Werder Bremen laut Werner eingependelt. Alles, was dabei für Ablenkung hätte sorgen können, wurde vom Verein systematisch ausgeschlossen. Kein Training vor Fans bis zum Spiel. Keine Medientermine für die Profis. Auch die traditionelle und stets von zahlreichen Fans gefeierte Bus-Ankunft der Mannschaft vor wichtigen Heimspielen fällt am Sonntag flach.

Werder Bremens Aufstiegsfinale gegen Jahn Regensburg - Ole Werner: „Alles andere ausblenden“

„Es geht darum, konzentriert den Blick auf die Dinge zu richten, die wir beeinflussen können und alles andere auszublenden“, erklärte Werner, der aus diesem Grund auch auf Besonderheiten in der Vorbereitung mit dem SV Werder Bremen verzichtet hat: „Es geht vielmehr darum, über ein Jahr lang gewisse Abläufe und einen Umgang miteinander zu haben, der dir Sicherheit gibt, wenn es zu besonderen Momenten kommt. Und darauf greifen wir jetzt zurück.“ Plötzliche Neuerungen, die der besonderen Bedeutung des Spiels gegen Jahn Regensburg Rechnung tragen sollen, können sich in Werners Augen auch negativ auswirken: „Vielleicht kommt dann eher die Frage auf: Wieso machen wir nicht weiterhin das, was uns in diese gute Position gebracht hat?“

Diese gute Position – sie sorgt dafür, dass Werder Bremen am Sonntag in der Blitztabelle so lange auf einem direkten Aufstiegsplatz stehen wird, bis das Team in Rückstand gerät. Wie gesagt: Ein Punkt genügt. Der letzte Spieltag kann dennoch dramatische Züge annehmen, wenn etwa die Konkurrenten aus Hamburg (in Rostock) oder Darmstadt (gegen Paderborn) in Führung gehen sollten und damit den Druck auf Werder erhöhen.
