Mayor Reiter sees it as an important indication that there should be a separate Ministry for Building and Housing in the future.

It is unclear how much tenant protection can succeed in the constellation with the FDP.

What is changing in terms of climate protection?
"The agreements on the major Munich issues of housing and transport are not as ambitious as I would have liked," says Mayor Katrin Habenschaden (Greens).
The massive expansion of renewable energies at the federal level will give Munich a solar roof offensive and also stimulate the economy.
"That is fantastic and gives us a tailwind on the way to a climate-neutral Munich by 2035." The coalition agreement promises the great departure that the country urgently needs.

"It is a very good thing that public software should also be made public in the future, keywords: open source, public money, public code," says the IT spokeswoman for the Greens in the city council, Judith Greif.

The already criminalizes the possession of software, which in principle would be suitable for illegal actions, but which is also used by computer scientists for very legitimate work.
"It is also very welcome that greater attention is being paid to data protection," says Greif.
"Everything that is developed in Germany should be subjected to more stringent controls in the future."
New coalition agreement: traffic
The coalition agreement addresses key challenges for the future of local transport, says MVG boss Ingo Wortmann.
“The increase in the number of passengers in local public transport is to be rated as a central concern.
To this end, the government would like to discuss an expansion and modernization pact with the federal states and municipalities and increase funding. "
It is also gratifying that there should be another corona rescue package for pandemic-related loss of income in 2022.

Social issues in the traffic light coalition
Many demands of the social department are taken up in the coalition agreement, says speaker Dorothee Schiwy.
For example, the increase in the minimum wage, the safeguarding of the pension level at 48 percent, the maintenance of the retirement age, the introduction of basic child benefits, the planned reform of SGB II, the extension of the rent brake and the fundamental change in direction in the area of integration policy.

What about the finances?
From the point of view of the CSU city council group, the coalition agreement has many weaknesses in terms of financing, says parliamentary group leader Manuel Pretzl.

Almost nowhere in the paper is it specifically stated how formulated goals, such as housing construction, the expansion of renewable energies or the increase in the minimum wage, are to be achieved.
