Whip cream without a mixer?

What to do if you don't have a blender handy?
With this trick, you'll be whipping cream in no time.
A delicious piece of strawberry cake at the weekend or a homemade sundae and fresh whipped cream - what could be better?
There are various methods of whipping cream until stiff: with a hand mixer, with a hand blender or in a food processor.
It's just stupid if you don't have any of these devices in the house.
So you have to do without whipped cream?
no way!
Would you have guessed it: you don't necessarily need a mixer to whip cream.
With this trick it also works quite easily without it.
All you need is a jam or disposable jar with a matching lid.
It's that easy to whip cream without a mixer
Put the cream and some powdered sugar (1 tablespoon for 1 cup of cream) in a screw-top jar.
Screw the lid on the jar and place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Then shake the jar very vigorously for about 3 to 4 minutes until the cream is firm.
Tip
In principle, cream must always be well chilled so that it can be whipped well.
But the equipment should also be cool.
So put the bowl, whisk and Co. in the fridge beforehand.
Whip the cream by hand: no-mixer method
There are other methods of whipping cream without a mixer, such as
by hand with a whisk
.
To do this, put the cream in a tall container and quickly roll the whisk between your hands.
The whole thing should already provide firm cream after about three minutes.
However, the
glass-shaking method
offers an advantage: you have less washing up and less risk of splashing.
All the cream stays in the glass, which you can simply place on the coffee table.
