There is a way to read the unusual letter from Cecilia Nicolini to number two of the Russian Fund that owns the Sputnik vaccine.
It is or would be like this: Alberto Fernández's star advisor acted as a
naive and inexperienced person
, who does not know how to distinguish
public from private language
.
To start talking.
In the letter, Nicolini reproaches Moscow for not sending the promised doses. And he complains because Fernández had to stand for two hours, waiting at a ceremony for the vaccine. He says he awaits news before July 9, a special date for announcements between us because "it means a lot." All real and confirmed and all unserious.
Another way to read the same email is in the paragraph where Nicolini
confesses disappointment
at the attitude of the Russian Fund. He says between exclamation marks: “
We always responded ... but you are leaving us with very few options to continue fighting for you and for this project!
”. It is the first time that an official reveals that in the purchase of Sputnik
there is something more than vaccines
. A part that gets naked is ideological and is its own trap. Shared project? Better not try to explain anything.
And there is a third interpretation, the one that now comes from Russia after the scandal. It is the
most conspiratorial reading
: it says that Nicolini's threat that "the contract is at risk of being publicly canceled"
conceals an arrangement with the United States
, as seen in the donation of 3.5 million doses of Moderna a week ago. Argentina was the country that received the most vaccines of these. Nicolini, who circulates without a patent on the Rosada, presents himself as someone who is there to help the President solve problems. Goodness.
In the Save Nicolini plan, the Government assures that thanks to the “confidential” letter that Nicolini herself distributed among legislators and officials, she was able to unblock the shipment of the component to produce the second dose.
And, at the same time, show that he does not marry anyone and is capable of standing up to anyone.
What more could you want?
The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) is a giant that manages billions and operates with a direct line to the Kremlin.
The truth is that
Nicolini's
letter with
personal regrets and complaints
of July 7 had not been read by its addressee, Anatoly Braverman, until it was published this Thursday on Russian portals, which lifted it from Carlos Pagni's note, in La Nation.
-Everything is fine, but our priority is to use the vaccine in Russia, was his response in a text agreed with the Government.
Nicolini's story explains why, in a Bloomberg survey of the best and worst places in the world to travel the pandemic, we ranked
first among the worst
.
The vaccine goes directly to the primary and legislative campaign.
To those who expect vaccines and seriousness, so much politics must produce
fever and fatigue
.
But it is inevitable: when you elect politicians you are also choosing, among many other things, health.
