Why doctors don't want to hear about 113, the unique number for access to care

The government is causing an outcry among health professionals by wanting to create a unique national number to replace the "15" and the numbers of liberal doctors.

Latest subject: the creation of a single "health" number, 113, which should replace the various existing numbers: 15 for urgent medical aid, 116-117 for on-going care, and other numbers ten-digit premises of on-call care.

This unique number is part of the implementation of a healthcare access service (SAS), which should allow French people to reach a doctor at any time, even when their GP's practice is closed.

The unique number "113" was introduced into the text (article 7a) by an amendment by the general rapporteur of the Social Affairs Committee, LREM deputy Thomas Mesnier.
