(ANSA) - GENOA, 09 AUGUST - The wild boar family has been confined for more than 24 hours inside the Maggiolina park yesterday to spend the afternoon in the cool of the main pine forest of La Spezia.
A decision that cost the family of ungulates the imprisonment operated by the police who, having removed those present, closed the gates of the pine forest to isolate the wild boars and prevent them from ending up on the street.
The park has been manned for a long time by animal rights activists, who have decided to 'watch over' the little family for fear that they would decide to kill not only father and mother but also the 8 puppies.
This event was excluded by the mayor of La Spezia Peracchini, who reassured the animal rights activists: in the afternoon the intervention of the ASL5 veterinarians and the regional wildlife are expected to capture them.
The group of ungulates said the mayor "has been locked in the park for their and our safety. I have signed a non-killing order, but let them be asleep and taken to a safe area."
But the animalists continued the garrison.
Last night, the carabinieri also passed along the Beetle park where they noticed three people in front of the gate.
One of these, according to the investigators, was trying with a hammer to undo the padlock with which the gate had been closed.
The carabinieri approached and asked for all the documents.
The two men immediately brought their identity cards while the woman, a 48-year-old French resident of La Spezia, allegedly refused identification.
So the carabinieri declared her under arrest but she resisted.
Eventually, after she was confiscated from her the hammer she was trying to open the lock with, she was transferred to the barracks.
This morning the direttissima, during which the woman, accused of violence and injuries to a public official, was sentenced to six months with parole and released from prison.
The wild boar family is always in the park: she waits for the forest guard to come and get her with the cages to return to the woods.
