The confidante of the hiding Wirecard board member Jan Marsalek, Henry O'Sullivan, who was arrested a week ago in Singapore, is released on bail for the time being.

This is reported by the Singapore state newspaper "The Strait Times".

So the bail is $ 150,000.

The decision was made by a district court after a video hearing O'Sullivans.

The 46-year-old Briton is considered to be the man behind several alleged Wirecard partner companies in Asia and a central figure in the scandal surrounding the financial group that was uncovered last year.

Investigative authorities in Singapore had arrested O'Sullivan last week on charges of forging documents.

They now accuse O'Sullivan of having forged documents in another four cases in 2017, according to the report.

The proceedings are scheduled to continue on October 13 in Singapore.

The prosecutors also accuse a manager of the Singapore-based company Citadelle, who is said to have created letters with false information at O'Sullivan's orders and sent them to Wirecard.

The authorities in Singapore had already refused to leave O'Sullivan for six months, and the incriminating material was apparently enough for him to be arrested last week.

The Munich public prosecutor has applied for the extradition of the Briton.

However, the process in Singapore is likely to drag on for a while, so that a rapid extradition of O'Sullivan to Germany is not to be expected.

The Briton himself never held an official position at Wirecard, but apparently received high commissions from the company for a long time.

Among other things, he financed a very dissolute lifestyle.
