The region in Rhineland-Palatinate that was affected by the flood disaster received a wide range of help from the Isarwinkel.
As reported, groups of volunteers from Lenggries and the Jachenau in the Ahr Valley helped out.
Now 500 rubber boots have also been brought to the disaster area.

- Stefan Stedele from Jachenau, who runs the “Oberland clothing trade” in Lenggries, recently brought 500 rubber boots to the disaster area.

Mr. Stedele, how did you get your rubber boots delivered?
The idea came from private individuals in the Black Forest who started an aid campaign.
They found me as a dealer on the Internet and asked me if they could buy 100 pairs of rubber boots from me.
But because there was pressure, I would have to bring them there myself.
Then I thought to myself: Because of 100 pairs it is hardly profitable.
So I packed the van full.
If necessary, I wanted to take back what is not needed.
My neighbor, Kfz Danner, then lent me a VW bus.
I stuffed it up to the roof with rubber boots that I had in stock in our wholesaler.
I got the call on Thursday and spontaneously decided to leave at 6 a.m. on Saturday.
How many rubber boots did you ultimately have with you?
I took everything I could grab, around 500 pairs of rubber boots with a purchase price of around 4500 euros.
All sizes across the board.
Where exactly did you take your delivery?
To Heimersheim near Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.
The helpers from the Black Forest had private contact there.
It was very important to me that the donations were accepted privately and not just cluttering a hall of a large aid organization with them.
And it was important to me that the things are actually needed.
The contact person on site had made a list of what was most urgently needed: buckets, generators, flashlights, shovels.

We came with a total of two trucks and the VW bus, unloaded everything in an empty car workshop and handed it over directly to the residents from there.
And have you found buyers for all of your rubber boots?
Yes, they were all taken from us, they were urgently needed.
Many women in particular had been out and about in the mud, some in flip-flops.
But because all the quagmire was mixed with heating oil, diesel and more, it was very aggressive to the skin.
What were your impressions on site?
I hadn't thought that the sight would be so terrifying - that an entire region looks like this, you can't even imagine.
The images in the media cannot even come close to reflecting this.
In the end, I was only there for two to three hours.
We asked if we could help, for example clearing out a house.
I had prepared to stay one night.
But in this initial phase there were already a lot of private helpers and it was not that easy to organize.
How was the rubber boot delivery financed in the end?
On the one hand, I collected some donations here on site.
The Jachenau community paid the rest of the bill from its donation account.
In return, I paid a four-digit amount into the donation account.
