(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 23 - Waves, sloping windows, escaping walls and sounds as you have never perceived them, in a multisensory journey to discover the National Museum of 21st Century Arts through the experience and narration of a team of deaf and visually impaired people.

This is how Maxxi now really opens its doors to everyone with Mixt - Museums for all, an experimental project created to reveal the spaces designed by Zaha Hadid from unprecedented perspectives, created with Mediavoice and Dstech.

"The museum for everyone has always been our mantra - says the president of the Maxxi Foundation Giovanna Melandri - This, yes, it is a museum, it has its own collection, but it is above all an experimentation workshop for the future, which we want to offer everyone participation. Mixt is a fundamental piece of this path. It is a starting point for changing the representation of disability in society. And we think it can also be a prototype, a small model to follow for the city and for the Italy, where there is still a lot to do on this issue ". "A pilot, experimental project, which can absolutely be expatriated to other museums", agrees the councilor for social policies of the Lazio Region, Alessandra Troncarelli. The result of two years of work by a multidisciplinary team made up of museum professionals, IT and accessibility experts, IT technicians and graphic designers but also of six deaf and visually impaired people, the project has a web platform (www.mixt.it) and an app for a phigital experience that combines the online path with the on-site one in the museum, including video guides in Italian and international sign language, captions, audio descriptions and narrations in Italian, English and Braille, maps and tactile models. Special guest, Tosca who lent her voice for the audio description that invites you to explore the museum.
