In memory of Prince Philip, members of the British royal family have posted pictures showing them with the Queen's recently deceased husband.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine showed two photos on their official Instagram account, with which they sent themselves to the Duke of Edinburgh

as "father, grandfather and great-grandfather": One is from 2015 and shows Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II together with the couple and their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Prince Louis, now two years old, was not born then.

The second picture, which can also be seen on the Queen's account, shows the deceased and his wife with seven of their great-grandchildren: Catherine's and Williams children George, Charlotte and Louis, the daughters of Zara and Mike Tindall Mia Grace and Lena Elizabeth , as well as the daughters of Peter Phillips and his ex-wife Autmn Isla and Savannah.

The picture was taken at Balmoral Castle in 2018 and was taken by Duchess Catherine.

Philips' son Prince Charles and his wife, Duchess Camilla, also show photos of their, so it is said on Instagram, "beloved father and father-in-law".

One shows father and son in the saddle at a polo game in 1966.

The second was created at the wedding of Prince William and Duchess Catherine in 2011.

Princess Eugenie not only published two photos with her grandfather - one as a child and one as an adult woman - but also a detailed text to her »dearest grandpa«.

She remembers "how I laughed at your jokes and asked about your spectacular life and service in the Navy," writes the 31-year-old among other things.

And further: "I remember your hands and your laugh and your favorite beer." She thanked Prince Philip for his "devotion and love".

Prince Philip died on Friday at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle.

The memorial service is scheduled for 3pm on Saturday at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.

It should take place in the immediate circle of the royal family and be broadcast live.

Due to the corona regulations, only 30 people are allowed to participate.

You must keep your distance and wear a face mask.
